A Gorey Story

A crazy art installation, kaleidoscope-y
Edward Gorey, that is.
A week ago Jake and I met some friends from No.Ca. for the Edwardian Ball at the Henry Fonda theater in Hollywood.
X is for Xerxes devoured by mice.
It's a crazy mix of burlesque, amazing acrobatic acts, music and EVERY incarnation of Goth, Steam Punk and  lets just call it "dress-up".
Jake as the mustache salesman, when you think mustache, think A.C.M.E.

An FO! That's a finished object.

Autumn Adamme of Dark Garden Corset fame with her beau Daniel in a racoon coat.

He's a good listener
Dearest Paul in his dark garden corset, because men need to cut a dash too.

This event happens in San Francisco in January and then it migrates to us in February. What can I say, a little of everything and so much fun!
Next up the Tweed Ride, let's hope it doesn't rain (but we could sure use it).

Tea and Sympathetic Company

Why, Hello!
I finally finished the daytime bustle dress of many incarnation. It was worn in the company of so many other lovely dresses and women. Here have a look, you'll recognize a few faces.
At the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, with so many lovely ladies at a tea organized by Athene K.
Can you spot Val from Time Traveling in Costume?
My friend Lorraine, this is the dress I was helping with.
Ladies got back, with Chantal F. a truly talented milliner. Both our hats are from her magical fingers.
The lovely Karin McK.

You see, it was bustle-palooza. We all had a great time, even if we had to endure a little drizzle and so many people asked if we were there for a wedding! Can't wait for next year. Special thanks to Marsha Stevenson for the amazing pictures, she is quite a photographer.
